Covid-19 Testing

If your child has any symptoms of Covid (continuous cough, warm to the touch, loss/change to sense of smell/taste) they cannot attend school and a PCR test should be arranged either by booking an appointment online at a testing centre, or ordering a home testing kit (if you do not have access to transport).

A Lateral Flow Device (LFD) test does not have the required sensitivity for symptomatic testing and is likely to produce a false negative result, therefore an LFD should not be used instead of booking a PCR test if symptoms are present. LFD testing is not suitable for primary aged children.

Procedures:

Book a PCR test/order a home testing kit.

Once booked/ordered, please send evidence of this to the school admin email address (admin@skegnessinfantacademy.org) by taking a screenshot or forwarding the email that you received.

When the results are received, (either positive or negative) send evidence of the test results to the admin email address.

If the results are negative, your child can return to school once the results have been sent to us. Please confirm via telephone that you have sent the results.

If the results are positive, your child will need to self-isolate for 10 days as advised by government guidelines.

Please see the guidance flier below.

IF YOUR CHILD HAS SYMPTOMS OF COVID-19, THEY CANNOT COME TO SCHOOL.
