Admission to the Skegness Infant Academy
The Skegness Infant Academy provides for the needs of children within the 3 to 7 age range who live in Skegness and the surrounding areas. Pupils will be admitted at the age of 3+ without reference to ability or aptitude using the criteria set out in this policy. Admission to our Academy is not dependent on any ‘voluntary’ contribution.
Admissions Numbers
- 90 for pupils in Reception Year
For admission to Reception, in the year preceding admission, parents should apply using the Lincolnshire County Council’s Admission process.

In-Year Admissions
Lincolnshire County Council will co-ordinate any in-year admissions and applications should be made online to their local authority Admissions website.
Appeals
If a parent’s/carer’s application for a place at the Academy is unsuccessful, they have the right of appeal to an Independent Appeals Panel.
Parents/carers should submit their appeal, in writing and giving their reasons for appeal, direct to the Academy - please complete the Appeals form below.
Appeals will be heard within 40 school days of the deadline for block appeals, or 30 school days for in- year appeals. Once returned, you will receive a written acknowledgement of this form within five (5) working days. If you do not receive this, please contact the Academy, 01754 762059.
If your child has an Education, Health and Care Plan you must contact the Special Educational Needs Team on 01522 553332.
Please be aware that the regulations under Section I of the School Standards and Framework Act 1998 limit the size of an infant class (a class in which the majority of children will reach the age of 5, 6 or 7 during the school year) to 30 pupils per class teacher. Admissions over this limit are only permitted in very limited circumstances.
