About Us

Welcome to Skegness Infant Academy!

As executive Principal of Skegness Infant and Skegness Junior Academies, it is my privilege to lead a highly-skilled and dedicated staff team committed to providing the very best care and educational provision to ensure that ALL children in both schools thrive.

We do this by providing a tailored, broad curriculum, designed to equip children with the foundational skills and knowledge that will enable them to be successful across the primary curriculum and beyond. This starts in Early Years, where a curiosity and love of learning is initially fostered and is continually reinforced and built upon throughout Key Stage 1 and Key Stage 2. The curriculum is further enhanced by carefully selected enrichment opportunities, linked to learning but also aimed at broadening the aspirations of pupils. Close collaboration between the Infant and Junior Academies is well-established and continues to provide many benefits to pupils, parents and staff alike.

Crucial to the ongoing success of both academies, are the partnerships with parents and the local community. Strong relationships with parents are valued, nurtured and are absolutely essential. Throughout the year, opportunities to see the school in-action, learn alongside your child, and find out more information about our curriculum will be provided. But please don’t wait for these scheduled opportunities to engage with us - our staff (including myself) are available and visible in the morning and in the afternoon every day.

At Skegness Infant and Junior Academies, we want the very best for our pupils. We have high aspirations for children (as well as high expectations). We want to develop pupils who are confident, responsible, independent and resilient – equipped with knowledge and skills, ready for the next stage of their learning, and ready to achieve their full potential.

Kind regards

Mrs J French
Executive Principal

Further information about us

Our Academy focuses firmly on friendships, and we work hard to reinforce positive relationships between children. By supporting Anti-bullying week each year and through our values approach to assemblies, we are able to create and maintain a calm, purposeful environment that encourages a lifelong love of learning.

We are committed to the highest of standards and expect outstanding levels of achievement in all areas of academic and personal development, including excellent behaviour.

We promote high-quality learning as an entitlement for all pupils and offer exciting learning environments that enrich and stimulate pupils’ learning.

As an inclusive school, we will generate amongst all learners an appreciation of the local community and the wider world, leading to a clear sense of global citizenship.

Individual pupils will develop a sense of personal responsibility so that they can make a full contribution to their learning and to the community. We will continue to raise aspirations and actively challenge low expectations.

We will establish positive learning partnerships with parents and the local community and provide strong and effective welfare and guidance services, with individual mentoring, to support pupils’ academic progress and all-round development.

We offer high-quality curriculum opportunities through innovative approaches to learning and work with other education establishments to provide a full range of opportunities to meet our pupils’ needs.

The academy is sponsored by the Greenwood Academies Trust (GAT), which currently has 38 academies educating over 19,000 pupils across seven local authority areas including Nottingham City, Leicester City, West Northamptonshire, Northamptonshire, Peterborough and Lincolnshire.
