For many pupils lunch is the principal meal of their day. Meal times should be relaxed and fun whilst also providing all the ingredients necessary to assist with pupils’ concentration and learning.
Meals for our pupils are provided by the Skegness Academy. Being part of the GDFT Trust group, this provision gives us more control and choice over the food we offer. Click on the link below to view our six week sample menus.
If you think you might be entitled to Free School Meals, click here for further information and to apply.
At break time our pupils in Nursery and Reception are entitled to free school milk as part of a government based initiative. All pupils in the Academy benefit from free fruit under this scheme also. Pupils in the Academy are encouraged to bring a healthy snack of their choice for breaktime.
Packed lunches brought to the Academy by pupils
We encourage parents to provide their children with packed lunches that adhere to national standards. We promote healthy packed lunch options using the principles of the Balance of Good Health. If you need any ideas, please call in to the office!
Food allergy and food intolerance
Individual care plans are created for pupils with food allergies. These document symptoms and adverse reactions, actions to be taken in an emergency, and emergency contact details. The Academy caterers are made aware of any food allergies or food intolerance and requests for special diets are submitted through an agreed process.
